About Microbanished

Microbanished is dedicated to educating people on microplastics - what they are, what they affect, why it matters, and alternative routes of action. With new research being published in this area frequently, Microbanished intends to be at the forefront of helping you make informed decisions about the products you buy and the brands that you shop with in order to reduce microplastic exposure.

About me

After reading some recent studies of how microplastics (and plastics) have invaded every crevasse of the planet, I brought this issue up with some of my colleagues. To my amazement, the majority of them didn't even know what microplastics are; that's when I decided to create Microbanished.

I believe that people should know more about this issue and should have all the information available to make informed decisions about how they live, the products they buy, and their impact on both the environment and themselves. With all the current research pointing towards the destructive nature of plastic and microplastics, it is clear that the knowledge of this issue is more important than ever.

Recently, walking through my local park on my way home from a night shift, I was enraged by the amount of plastic litter everywhere. While it is ok to pick it all up and bin it, the damage is already done by this time with countless microplastics flooding the surrounding areas. This also does not get to the root of the issue - the mass scale production of single use and general use plastics.

If you are developing or know of any knew technologies to help combat this issue, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Current research and evidence

Research into microplastic contamination, as a whole, is still in the early stages. While there may not be much in terms of literature at the moment, the findings that we do have are worrying. This has spurred professionals to call for further study into the effects of microplastics on animals, the environment, and people with standard measurements in development.

With many believing future research will find that microplastics cause devastating harm, I believe that it is crucial we stay updated to ensure that you can make an informed choice.

Our Mission

Realistically, we need plastic, so we're not here to convince you otherwise. My mission is to ensure you have all the options available whether it's better alternatives to microplastic producing products or simply advising how to best use products to reduce the impact of this issue. The choice is yours.
